NIWOSEC Strengthens Partnership with ICPC to Combat Corruption


Osogbo, Nigeria – January 31, 2024 – The Nigerian Workforce Strategy and Enlightenment Centre (NIWOSEC) visited the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) – Osogbo Zonal Office. The visit, was aimed at solidifying collaboration and support for the propagation of the National Ethics and Integrity Policy (NEIP). NIWOSEC's Executive Director/Lead Strategist, Dr. David Kayode Ehindero, led the team.

Dr. Ehindero presented NIWOSEC's proposal to collaborate and support in propagating the NEIP through the establishment of Workplace Cohorts against corruption, an offshoot of NIWOSEC's Project Fix Nigeria. The NIWOSEC team was warmly received by the Resident ICPC Commissioner, Mr. Demola Bakare. He expressed his satisfaction with the standard of the organization, commending their past projects and programs.


In his address, Mr. Bakare lamented the high rate of corruption in Nigeria and its adverse effects on the standard of living of Nigerians. He affirmed the willingness of the ICPC to collaborate with NIWOSEC to enlighten the workforce on the dangers of corruption and work towards fostering ethical practices in the workplace.

Dr. Ehindero expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and expressed NIWOSEC's commitments to partnering ICPC with a view to combating corruption in Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of promoting integrity and ethical conduct in the workplace, and the need for collective efforts to eradicate corrupt practices.


The collaboration between NIWOSEC and ICPC represents a significant step towards promoting a culture of transparency, integrity, and accountability in Nigeria. By joining forces, both organizations aimed to empower the Nigerian workforce to resist and report corruption, ultimately contributing to the country's socio-economic development.
